Folk ensemble "Arinushka"

In September–November 2026, the XVI International Children’s and Youth Folklore Assembly will take place
in Vilnius, dedicated to the Year of National Communities, proclaimed by the Seimas resolution of 15 October
2024.
Children’s and youth folklore groups, solo performers, family ensembles, young artists, and everyone
interested in folk art are invited to participate.
The event will feature groups from various regions of Lithuania selected through a конкурс. Admission to all
Assembly events is free. The Assembly is a celebration for the whole family, opening the door to the world of
folklore and offering an opportunity to learn many new and engaging things over just a few days.

Programme:
• Workshops led by ethnic culture specialists from Lithuania and abroad for children and youth
(September–November, Vilnius Old Town Renewal Agency and the Lithuanian Centre of Folk Culture and
Ethnography of National Minorities).
• 10th International Conference of Young Folklorists “My Family – Part of Multinational Lithuania” (7
November, 10:00, Vilnius Town Hall).
• Lecture-concerts by folklore groups from Lithuania and abroad for students of national communities and
Sunday schools in Vilnius (September–November).
• Traditional crafts and young artisans’ laboratory, folk art and culinary heritage fair (7 November,
10:00–17:00, Vilnius Town Hall).
• Grand Assembly concert “The Young Generation of Folklore” (7 November, 12:00, Vilnius Town Hall).
• Sightseeing tours in Vilnius for Assembly participants.
10TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF YOUNG FOLKLORISTS
“MY FAMILY – PART OF MULTINATIONAL LITHUANIA”
The conference offers students an opportunity to express creativity, artistic interpretation, and personal
perspectives on the importance of family and the cultures of national communities in Lithuania. Participants
will present reports inspired by family histories, traditions, and multicultural experiences, exploring
connections between family values and folklore.
Presentations should be up to 10 minutes long and may include PowerPoint slides, video, or audio materials.
Participants, together with their teachers and parents, will prepare and present stories about their families
representing various national communities in Lithuania.
The aim of the conference is to introduce the origins, traditions, and everyday life of families from different
national communities living in Lithuania. Participation fosters respect for one’s own and other cultures,
strengthens connections with the country’s history, and develops public speaking and social skills.

Registration is required. Completed application forms with Annexes No. 1 and No. 2 must be submitted by
