The XXI International Ethnic Culture Camp-School "Tradition" (Palanga, Lithuania)

From June 18 to June 25, 2021, the XXI international summer creative camp-school TRADITION, which is also a seminar for teachers on traditional folk culture, will be held in Palanga. Organizers - The Folklore and Ethnography Centre of Ethnic Minorities in Lithuania, School of Slavic Traditional Music, Vilnius Center of Russian Folklore.
Holidays in the folklore camp include active outdoor activities, recreation, daily traditional folk culture classes, which are conducted by the best teachers of Lithuania, Georgia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, as well as exciting contests and adventures, folk theater performances and competitions and good mood!

The camp-school program:
● Daily workshops for different age groups:
TRADITIONAL FOLK SINGING (Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, Georgian, Polish, Lithuanian singing traditions);
FOLK DANCE (Russian dances, round dances, Georgian Lezginka, etc.);
DECORATIVE AND APPLIED ART (production of folk costume elements, jewelry from beads, wool, folk embroidery, stamping technique for printing onto fabrics, etc.)
FOLKLORE GAMES.
● Seminars for teachers about traditional folk culture:
- Methods of working with a folklore ensemble;
- Children and traditional folk culture;
- Methodology of organizing folklore expeditions, principles of archiving the collected materials;
- Folklore in preschool institutions.
● Round table for teachers, ethnomusicologists "Best practices for the preservation of traditional culture in different countries";
● Games by the sea, evening folk dances;
● Quiz games;
● Concert in the Botanical Park of Palanga;
● The closing ceremony of the Camp-School and a concert of folklore groups by students of the Tradition School in the Palace of Count Tyszkiewicz (Amber Museum).

During the time spent in the summer camp-school, participants will expand their horizons, gain a lot of knowledge and skills as well as meet new friends and like-minded people. A team of experienced teachers will surround the children with care and attention, go with them to the fascinating world of socialization. Holidays should be not only healthy, but useful and exciting. Each age group has its own program, and a busy schedule is thought out to the smallest detail. In addition to productive activities, you will find a clean beach and lots of fun.

General information
Teachers will receive certificates of advanced training (64 hours), and participants will receive diplomas. The organizers provide a free visa to Lithuania (except for a visa center service fee), can arrange accommodation in 2-4 bedrooms with all amenities (15 minutes walk to the sea) and 3 meals a day.
